Traditionally, a confined space attendant—often called a manhole watch—can be hired to keep track and raise an alarm in case of emergencies. However, this approach can be costly since each manhole requires one attendant, and human error is always a possibility. In severe injury cases, without visibility into the confined space, help may also arrive too late.

With Jclement Engineering’s mobile digital confined space monitoring solution, you can see what is happening inside, communicate directly with the engineer performing maintenance, and accurately log who enters and exits the manhole and at what time. This monitoring isn’t limited to just outside the confined space—it can be done across the site or even remotely. Up to 12 manholes can be supervised simultaneously by just one operator.
